Brian Viglione (Dresden Dolls, Violent Femmes), and Don Godwin started off the day with a zydeco-driven jam led by Sxip Shirey on megaphone

Sissi Schulmeister and Steve Moses of Alice Donut (Alternative Tentacles Records) were joined by Ernest Anderson and Laura Ortman, and called this new lineup SAMO—an acronym of their last names

JADO—a first name acronym of Oliver Rivera Drew, Andrea Havis, Jeannie Fry and Diego Ferri – played 2 new songs written for BC35

JG Thirlwell (FOETUS) and Dana Schechter (Insect Ark, GNAW) prepared a piece with Laura Ortman on violin, and featured an impromptu 'choir' of audience members holding out notes at Thirwell's direction.

Tidal Chanel performed with poet Billy Cancel over electro industrial sounds by Genevieve Fernworthy (LAUDS)

Violist Genevieve Kammel Morris (LAUDS) brought a 3-minute participatory performance featuring vocals + bowed instruments sustaining the note G (at roughly 390Hz) including Lawry Zilmrah bowing a modified bicycle wheel with pickups, Megan Moncrief on ukelin, Valerie Kuehne and John Schwartz on cello, and Jason LaFarge, Laura Ortman, and Kolin Zein on violin

The BC35 weekend closed with guitar + drums duo, Cinema Cinema, joined by sax player David Lackner (Synthetic Love Dream, Blue Jazz TV) and bassist Mikel Dos Santos (The Realistics)

Creating pieces from the improvisations, along with editing and selective balancing, took weeks at a time per song –

a behemoth had been created.

Overdubs soon followed on the pieces that were written specifically for the event,

and in the case of some ensembles, a member would handle the mixing.
